Back at Karamu I am doing a one day break next week from the TV Series to act in a staged reading at the Karamu House of "Terror on Biddle Street" by Jim Spriggs a staged reading directed by Sue Johnson for The Joyce R. Whitley ArenaFest of New Plays at Karamu Theatre Corner, East 89th & Quincy Avenue (Protected Parking Lot) Wed. March 16th 6:00 P
Free Admission Terror on Biddle Street, by Jim Spriggs, is a parlor drama that invites the audience to visit the East Baltimore, Maryland home of Lottie Spencer where its "sistas" serve sweet tea and dandelion wine laced with retribution. And, where you'll follow one sista's journey toward wholeness, and share in a fateful night when she discovers that some secrets are better left that way.
It's a fun little role (rather two roles that I get to do).
IT'S FREE, SO EVERYONE IS INVITED TO COME!

My Lawyer will hate me for this. I can't say much, but I had a 1am phone call with a talent (and I use the word loosely) who wants more than what they already received. I did manage to keep my cool when I really wanted to say what I thought of this person. So I have to talk to my Consigliere tomorrow about it. Still, the rest of things are going fine and such. I Have a few more scenes with my lead (should be able to get her done in 2 days). I left one of the roughest scenes with her for last.
I finally showed up for 10 seconds in the first episode.
Until I cast a certain part, my prosecutor will be on hold. Yet, I still get a chance to act. I'm going to be in a staged reading over at Karamu House this Wednseday. Ironically it is by Sue Johnson who had been directed by me years ago in the play "The Hot Rain."
The "Old Man" is back. He's doing fine and walking around like he was never even sick.
I'm still a little pissed about the 1 am phone call, but I have calmed down a bit. And I feel OK that I didn't go off on the person. Although every part of me was screaming to do so. The Person is older than me, so you think they would know better, but with age wisdom does not always come. I called my Mom. Who is thee smartest person I know. She said, why do I deal with such people. I said, I have no idea. I should have really never even brought them aboard. Still, my Consigliere was sponsoring them and I remembered they had talent once so I assumed they could do it. BOY WAS I WRONG.
Still, the show must go on.
