Got a chance to be in character for the TV show. And thanks to a conversation with one of my actors, I finally got a handle on playing Raft. There is a part of his personality that disturbs me. I do consider him wicked on this level, but in playing him, I have to justify why he does what he does. I did a character photo shoot and rehearsal with my girl playing Charlie for the shoot. It was good to see her again and I was really happy Mike was there shooting photos.
I have to get Mike in front of the camera as well as behind it.
I'm a bit tired now though from playing Raf. Slipping into his personality can be a bit tiring. Although to some others I may play it with ease, thinking his thoughts can be a bit disturbing.
And although it was refreshing to think about something else associated with "Out of Darkness" besides getting more sponsors and production details. I could use a hand with some of the details of ths shoot, but alas the "film community" we have here is selective on whom they choose to help. And I don't fit into any of thier cliques. Still, now that I am gathering sponsors, I do feel good. I know the community has their price. They may slam you with their words, but offer them some money and they do come a running.
Still, I would hate to work with someone, no matter how talented they are, who just wants the money and doesn't respect me or the project.
So for right now, I am doing OK by myself. I am a little focused on the "money" issues. With money, you can always buy talent. Besides this town does need a paying production. Truth be told, this town needs a lot of things.
I wish I could follow up on all the business leads I do have. Yet, it's hard to do that and keep the production on track. So, I jump back and forth between the business and the "show" (creative) side of show business.
While jumping back and forth does give me a headache at times, one has to do what one has to do.
On the other side of things, I had fun with Charlie (as always).
