Yesterday was an odd day. I had contacted Final Draft about sponsoring the Crime Contest for Prelude2Cinema and they said yes, so I have a copy of Final Draft to add to the prize. Which is so cool since a ton of Hollywood screenwriters use the thing. I use it too. Very nice people. Love them.

No about the casting. I think. Actually I know I have to look outside of here to get talent. I have found some people for the TV show, but there is no way I will be able to properly cast it if I stick to only actors from here.  And in a large respect I can't really blame the actors here. We don't do enough movies and TV so nobody here really does acting solely as a job here.  Everyone has their day job.

I have met a lot of good business people and some sponsors now, so I feel good. Still there is a lot to do.

Have to go do a shoot for United Martial Arts today and then back to the Net. Going to work on getting some more sponsors. Have to always think outside of here. Movies and TV are still not really here (in the minds of a lot of people).  I do have the Emmy and some movies under my belt, so that helps of course, but I don't think most people really realize you can do movies and TV here. Hell, it's a lot cheaper than trying to do stuff in Hollywood. Besides even Hollywood had to start somewhere. They do have the nice weather though. I know movie history, so I know movies really started shooting on the East Coast here.

On the presonal side of things. Still workingon that blonde thing. We'll see how that goes.

Went to a business event last night.  It was beyond cool. I guess cause I am the only film person there, I have no competition so everyone has been nice.  For the last year or more, i have been networking with the business community and avoiding the artistic community. My thinking is that since this is Show BUSINESS, I have to be part of the business community here.  Tomorrow I have the SCORE meeting. Met with them before and they were not too helpful, but I have to expect that.   Movies and TV is still an oddity here. Yet, the biz plan is done and some people in the financial world have looke dit over and gave it the OK. Which makes me  feel good. Also meet an adorable brunette tonight.  That was a nice moment. Still, have to keep focused on the plan. Also, I got a call from DM. He wanted to return to the game, but I have no time for that.

I feel good about things. Been working hard. Getting some cash in to do a biz plan for someone. Unexpected, but nice.

Oh, and I finally bought my name back. Well in a sense. I bought www.alexpmichaels.com
