Haven't wrote here in a while. A lot of things have been going on. Here is a copy of a blog I wrote else where

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Alex P. Michaels. I am a Cleveland native, an Emmy winning writer and an indie moviemaker. I am usually not a political sort, but a lot of things in Cleveland seemed to be tied to politics especially if one wants to create any change. And so I am seriously considering running for Mayor to help my hometown live up to the potential that it has. The city feels that Hollywood coming into town to shoot for a few weeks is "Cleveland being part of the movie industry. “ I have lost count of the number of talented individuals who have left town to pursue a career in California and elsewhere.

I have been out to California, but I am back and dedicated to making this city a true movie community. My company, Prelude2Cinema, has established a website, created movies using the talent in Cleveland, Ohio and built a physical studio to create more movies and nurture new talent. We are seeking to expand our studio, which we call Knight Studios into the Knight Studio Movie Incubator. It will be based on a facility in Canada and act as a training and movie facility. There is information at our site about this where people can input about whether they would support a movie studio here.

To visit the site, go to www.prelude2cinema.com/studio.htm

The movie industry being a part of this Cleveland, Ohio would change this region in so many ways. It would get the Mayor's goal of 500,000 plus people and provide jobs. A typical movie hires at least a hundred people. That is if the movie originates here. A movie that comes from Hollywood already has everyone aboard it and the most we get is a few extra parts or a few production assistant parts. But the key people are already aboard. The shooting of a movie is usually the shortest part of making a movie.

We need to embrace the movie community here. I plan to do that because I am part of that community. I also plan to create this studio and not go off to Hollywood. We have the talent here and I want to see the city of Cleveland live up to its potential. The movie industry will give this city its goal of 500,000 plus people and it will give us international attention. It will also provide creative jobs to the region and help to lure back some of the people who have left the city to pursue a movie career elsewhere.
