Have to recast for The MAN. So, what else is new. All in all, I have faith with the production. The script is good (maybe a little too bold for Cleveland though). I have to finish typing the changes and start working with the other person in it, so I can see how well I play off someone else.
Haven't been on stage in a while, so I honestly have a bit of fear with that one. Trying to remember the advice I always give to actors which is to "stay in character."
Although some of this is from my life, I am still treating it as a "character" I am playing. The good thing is that it gives me a chance to also show a lot of the movies I have worked on. And it is not like I will be on stage the entire time. There is about nearly a half hour of movie clips.
When I did "Romeo and Juliet," I played Paris and so I had a lot of time where I was off stage and I could go over the next scene. In "The MAN," I have a lot of time with the movie clips where I can be off stage. I have to design the stage where I can duck off stage when the movie clips are playing. Since I am a "lawyer" in the play, maybe I could have an office where I duck into every now and then. Just a door to hide behind when the clips play. Yeah, that might work.
Met with an actress today. I have another meeting tomorrow. I really hate casting though. I use to like it, but now it just seems like another decision to make.
