Cleveland Film Czar- pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

Been a hell of a week. It's been some hours since the Launch Party at MOCA, and before that I went to see Rachel at the Second City and before that I auditioned for MOCA and did part of a one act play I swore I would never do. Anyway, it was nice to see Rachel. We had a drink and talked afterwards. Supposed to get together this week. There is so much going on. I am moving in a new circle of people. Which is good, but I still have much work to do as far as getting my name out there and getting some real funds for the company. Of course, as party of my little community thing, I am still building up Indie Cleveland.

I had a long talk with Neal Hodges about movies and the community and about my goals. It was kind of wild cause I heard myself talking like a politician lately and trying to do a lot to bring the business and indie movie community together.

Kind of wears me out because that is a huge fucking task. I still have the workshops to deal with. A few people have not paid, so it makes it difficult to arrange things for it. I did pull in better skilled teachers and I cut loose D.M. I think after a while I was going to anyway. He hasn't called me not since I didn't want to do that shoot his way and I haven't called him. I am still supposed to go see his movie with little Diana. Although honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he cut me out of it.

It's funny in doing my one act play, my alter-ego's fantasy girl looks like RM. I don't want to read anything into that one. Fantasies get you get in trouble cause you try to play them out in the real world and then you get disappointed when they don't play out like the fantasy.

Still, it's a lot better dreaming about her, then a few other women I have thought of lately.

Anyhow, decided to help out the people at MOCA with the Pilot thing. Dave and Christine are nice. I could get credit for this and it looks like a show that will get some notice. Besides it will be nice to let people know there is a movie community here.

I've been talking to Joe a lot lately about movies and things here. I like Joe. He is my consigliere and Lord knows I need one. A few times I have gotten soft about things and almost showed up at meetings where I knew I was not welcome at.

The meeting tonight was kind of crowded, but I did get a chance to talk to Neal and Brandon from OIFF. And I got a chance to meet Amy Sparks (who I wanted to meet for a long time). They have a new magazine up and running.

I also got my Prelude2Cinema tote bag I ordered. I sent one to the IT girl as well with her picture on it. She made the honor roll. It was the least I could do. We are supposed to get together on the 16th and take those Love pictures. Should be interested posing her like Jennifer Love Hewitt. Going to submit IT girl #1 to the OIFF this year.

I know all this talk and nothing of the WAR brewing. Well, as a former government worker, I know enough not to mention it! The Second city show mentioned it a lot. It was hardcore in some respects. OK, I did just go there to see Rachel, but I laughed a lot. Which is good. Haven't did that in a while. I needed that.

Got a lot to work on. I miss doing productions, but this funding thing is paramount right now in order to take p2c to the next level. And Indie Cleveland is coming along really quickly. So, I have to take care of that as well. Right now they seem to feed off one another. Which is a good thing.

I am crystalizing IC's mission and focusing on things. It will mean cutting ties with some people, but I planned to do that anyway. And of course it means going out to a lot of events (the right kind of events so that my name gets out there). Which is new to me and kind of tiring, but worth it. At least time will time.

Glad I have nothing planned this weekend. I probably need to rest all the weekend cause next week, it is back to running around getting rooms scheduled for the Workshops and a few more meetings. And I could see RM. I think that will be the best thing. She makes me smile.
